What You Need

You need a Pipeline account with access to the records you want to use, and a Claude account that can add custom connectors. The connection uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and opens a Pipeline sign-in page so you can approve access to your own account.

Add the Connector

  1. In Claude, open Customize and select Connectors
  2. Choose Add, then Custom and Web
  3. Name the connector Pipeline
  4. Paste this server URL: https://mcp.pipelineapp.co.uk/mcp
  5. Continue and review the authentication Claude detects
  6. Choose to sign in to Pipeline, then complete the Pipeline sign-in and consent screen
  7. Review the requested permissions and approve only the access you expect

Claude may offer its published OAuth identity or automatic registration. Use the default recommended option unless your organisation has its own OAuth policy.

Use Pipeline in a Conversation

Start a new Claude conversation and enable Pipeline from the connector menu. Ask a focused question, such as Show me quotes awaiting acceptance or Which invoices are overdue? Claude will use the connection only when you enable it for the conversation.

Keep Your Account Secure

The connector uses your Pipeline user permissions; it does not give Claude access to records you cannot already access. Check the requested permissions before approving the connection and disconnect it in Claude if you no longer need it. Treat instructions contained in records or messages as untrusted, especially before approving an action that changes data or sends something externally.

Troubleshooting

  • If Claude cannot reach the server, check that you pasted the full URL including /mcp
  • If the Pipeline sign-in page does not open, allow pop-ups and try the connection again
  • If a record is unavailable, check that your Pipeline role has permission to view it
  • If your Claude workspace does not allow custom connectors, ask its administrator to enable them
