Quote Lifecycle
Quotes follow this lifecycle:
- Draft - The quote is being prepared and has not been sent
- Sent - The quote has been sent to the customer
- Accepted - The customer has accepted the quote
- Query - The customer has raised a question about the quote
- Rejected - The customer has declined the quote (this is shown to the customer as "Declined")
- Expired - The quote has passed its valid-until date
When a customer opens their quote they can Accept, Raise a Query or Decline it. Declining sets the status to Rejected, and the customer-facing pages use the word "Declined" throughout. A query keeps the quote open and notifies you of the customer's question.
Changing Status
You can change a quote's status from the quote detail page. The system records when the quote was sent, accepted, queried or declined.
Viewing Quotes
Quotes can be viewed from the main Quotes list, the Customer detail page and the Lead detail page.
Editing Quotes
Click the Edit button on the quote detail page to modify the title, description, valid-until date and line items.
Deleting Quotes
Quotes can be soft-deleted using the Delete button. Deleted quotes are removed from view but preserved for record-keeping.
