What Xero Does

Xero integration lets Pipeline send invoices and expenses to the connected Xero organisation. Sync attempts are logged so users can see what was sent, what failed and what needs retrying.

Before You Start

You need:

  • A Xero account and organisation
  • Permission to connect apps in Pipeline
  • A configured Xero app for Pipeline
  • The redirect URL shown by Pipeline for Xero

Configure the Xero App

  1. Open the Xero developer portal
  2. Create or open the Pipeline app
  3. Add the Pipeline Xero callback URL as an OAuth redirect URL
  4. Confirm the app has accounting access for transactions and contacts
  5. Save the client credentials in the Pipeline environment or integration configuration

Connect Xero in Pipeline

  1. Open Pipeline and go to Settings
  2. Select Apps
  3. Find the Xero card
  4. Click Connect
  5. Sign in to Xero
  6. Select the organisation to connect
  7. Approve access and return to Pipeline

Syncing Records

Open an invoice or expense and use the Integrations tab to send it to Xero. Pipeline stores the external Xero ID, sync status and full attempt history.

Troubleshooting

  • If connection fails, check the redirect URL matches exactly
  • If sync fails for contacts, check the customer or supplier has enough contact information
  • If sync fails for tax, check the selected tax rate and account mapping
  • If the connection expires, reconnect Xero from the Apps page
